Equine Route Privacy Policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

Equine Route is a crowdsourced map for horse haulers. This page explains what information the app uses and why. Equine Route does not sell or share your data with advertisers, and does not run ads.

Equine Route is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, with Android on Google Play coming soon. You can also use it on the web at equineroute.com.

Equine Route was formerly called RodeoPin.

Location

If you allow it, Equine Route uses your device's location to center the map on where you are and to show your position (and driving direction) as a blue dot while you use the app. This location is used only on your device to display the map — Equine Route does not store, transmit, or log your location on any server.

Account & Email

Adding a pin requires signing in with your email address (a one-time 6-digit code, no password). Your email is used only to identify you as the author of the pins and notes you add, and to let you sign in again later. We don't use your email for marketing and don't share it with third parties.

Pins & Notes You Add

A pin you suggest (name, location, notes, pin type) is reviewed first and, once approved, is public and visible to everyone using Equine Route. Notes you add to a pin are public too — that's the whole point of the crowdsourced map. Please don't include personal information in a pin or note that you don't want public.

Offline Caching

To keep the map usable with no signal (common at rodeo grounds), the app saves a copy of the public venue pins directly on your device. This is the same public pin data described above — nothing additional is collected to enable this.

Analytics

Equine Route uses privacy-friendly, anonymized analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand overall usage of the app. This does not identify you personally. In the Equine Route app on iPhone and Android, we also use Google Analytics (Firebase) to measure how the app is used — for example, which public pins are opened and what's searched for. The events we send never include your email, account ID or your device's GPS location, and the app does not collect your device's advertising ID. The optional "how did you hear about Equine Route?" question on the welcome screen is anonymous and recorded with this same app analytics — it is not tied to your account.

Delete Your Account

In the app: sign in, tap your account button (the circle with your first initial, at the top of the map), tap Delete Account, then Yes, Delete My Account. It's instant.

Without the app: email support@equineroute.com from the email address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my account". We delete it within 30 days and reply when it's done.

What's deleted: your account and your email address, any problem reports you sent about a pin, any pin suggestions you sent, and the sign-up answer saved with your account, if you gave one.

What's kept: pins and notes you added stay on the map for other haulers, but they're no longer linked to you. Anonymous analytics (no name or email) may be kept for up to 14 months.
